Company management Lotus has given "green light" to the project on working out of following generation of legendary model Esprit. On it informs British edition Autocar referring to own source in "Lotus". It's expected, that officially, on creation of this sport car will inform in some weeks during announcement by the new head of mark Danny Bahr of strategy of development of firm the next seven years.

New Lotus Esprit

According to an edition source, flagman Lotus Esprit becomes the car which will allow to create new image of a brand, and for owners, the car will be the acquisition showing their high status.

Hybrid and electric version Lotus Esprit

Under the preliminary information, for new Lotus Esprit, constructed on a rear-wheel platform of model Evora, three engines of company Toyota will be offered: 300-strong V6, the 5-l 8-cylinder engine power of 423HP from sedan Lexus IS-F and, probably, 560-strong atmospheric V10 in volume 4,8 litres from supercar Lexus LFA. Also it's not excluded, that subsequently Esprit will receive hybrid and electric versions. It's expected, that the novelty will appear on sale in Europe by 2012.
